Key takeaways

Key takeaways

  • Managed plans start at $199 CAD/month; compare their commitment, inclusions and update limits.
  • Redesigns, custom systems and WordPress development need an agreed project scope and price.
  • You always own your domain, content, uploaded media and customer data; completed website ownership transfers after 12 completed payments.
  • Plan for domains, email, third-party services and work outside the agreed scope.

A useful website budget covers both the work needed to launch and the responsibility for keeping the site current. For an NWT business, a managed website plan and a separately quoted redesign or custom system answer different needs.

This guide explains Rovidx’s published prices and terms, checked October 20, 2026. These are Rovidx options, not an estimate of the average price charged by every NWT provider. Use the current website plans and terms and your written proposal when choosing an engagement.

Monthly plan or project quote: start with the work you need

A managed plan combines website delivery with hosting and ongoing care while the plan is active. It suits a business that wants a defined website and a place to send routine updates. A project quote defines a particular change or build: for example, redesigning an existing website, connecting an application process or developing custom functionality.

Compare what is included over the same period. A project development price alone does not tell you who will pay for hosting, handle updates or maintain integrations after launch. A monthly price also needs to be read with its commitment, update limits and ownership terms.

Managed plan

Monthly billing

Annual billing

Essential Website

$199 CAD/month

$1,990 CAD/year

Business Website

$499 CAD/month

$4,990 CAD/year

Essential and Business have no upfront development fee and an initial 12-month commitment. Annual billing is equivalent to two months free compared with monthly billing. No upfront development fee does not mean there is no commitment to pay for the service.

  • Essential includes a custom informational website with up to 5 core pages at launch, a contact or inquiry form and basic search engine setup. It allows one active update request at a time.

  • Business includes everything in Essential, up to 12 launch pages and one standard business system, such as ecommerce, online booking, event registration, donations, advanced forms or standard membership functionality. Initial setup covers up to 25 products, services, events or listings. It allows two active update requests at a time.

  • Custom Systems is priced to requirements. Portals, custom applications, databases, API connections and workflows need a separate scope and price; the managed-plan prices are not a quote for that work.

The managed website service page holds the full inclusions and terms. This article is a budgeting guide, not a replacement for them.

What changes the scope of a redesign or custom website?

A useful quote starts with requirements rather than a page count alone. Share your current website and the action visitors need to take, then work through these questions:

  • Content and structure: which audiences and services need pages, what content is ready, and who will supply or approve text, photos and other materials?

  • Visitor actions: is a contact form enough, or do people need bookings, applications, payments, registration or account access?

  • Connections and data: which booking tools, CRMs, payment services or other systems must remain connected, and is data migration required?

  • Existing-site work: which content, URLs, design elements and integrations can be reused, and what needs improvement or replacement?

  • Delivery and continuing care: what must be tested before launch, who approves it, and who will own updates, licences and support afterwards?

For a public website refresh, start with website redesign and modernization. A defined application or integration belongs in custom software development. For a custom plugin, API or inherited WordPress/PHP platform, discuss WordPress development. Those projects are scoped individually.

Work with Rovidx

Compare the plan with the work you need

Review the managed website inclusions and terms, or discuss an existing-site redesign with its own scope and quote.

Ownership, the initial term and leaving the service

Under the published managed-plan terms, you always own your domain, content, uploaded media and customer data. Ownership of the completed website transfers after 12 completed payments. Essential and Business have an initial 12-month commitment.

After that initial term, monthly service continues month to month; annual service can be renewed yearly. If you cancel after the initial term, Rovidx provides your website files and data at no charge.

Receiving those files is different from having another provider move and operate the site. Migration, setup elsewhere, third-party licences, subscription software, proprietary hosted services and non-transferable integrations are separate from the transfer. Custom Systems ownership and exit terms are defined in the proposal.

Maintenance and routine updates: what the plan covers

Managed hosting, SSL, backups, maintenance and security monitoring are included while the managed plan is active. Routine text, photo, team, service and business-information updates are included, as are standard pages using the existing website design, within reasonable use.

Essential allows one active request at a time and Business allows two. Most routine requests are completed within 2 to 5 business days. That describes the routine-update service; it is not a promise that every change or custom development request will be completed in that window.

Major redesigns, full rebrands, advertising campaign production, professional copywriting, photography or video production, bulk data entry, large product catalogues, new custom systems, new integrations and substantial scope changes may need a separate quote or a plan upgrade. Include likely changes in the initial discussion so they can be considered in the scope.

Domains, email and other continuing costs

  • Annual Essential and Business plans include one standard domain registration or renewal, up to $30 CAD per year, registered to you. Premium domains are excluded; you may pay the difference for a premium choice.

  • Monthly customers purchase their domain separately, and Rovidx can help connect it.

  • Business email hosting is separate unless included in a written proposal.

  • Payment processing, platform transaction fees, third-party subscriptions and premium plugins or software licences are separate.

  • Additional charges apply only to approved work or third-party services outside the plan.

For a redesign or custom project, ask which of these ongoing items are included in its proposal and which remain with you or an existing provider. A managed-plan inclusion should not be assumed to apply automatically to a separately quoted project.

Compare the work, not just the headline price

Reusing a working tool can shape a sensible scope. La Belle Couleur’s website connects service information to an existing Square booking system. Arctic Marine Training’s digital work includes program information, applications, corporate inquiries and communications. Those are different operating requirements, not interchangeable website packages. The case studies show delivered work; they are not published price quotes.

Choose your next step

If you want a new business website with hosting and ongoing care, compare the managed website plans. If the current site needs clearer information or a better path to inquire or book, discuss a website redesign. For custom functionality, begin with the relevant software or WordPress service above.

For a useful first conversation, send your current site if you have one, your main audiences, what visitors need to do, the content you can supply, any tools that must stay connected and your preferred timing. You can tell Rovidx about your website without choosing a plan first. Scope and fit are reviewed before the work is confirmed.
